Philips Arena has been home of the Atlanta Hawks since the arena opened in 1999. Before moving to Philips Arena the Hawks played in the Georgia Dome between 1997 and 1999, the Omni Coliseum from 1972 to 1997 and Alexander Memorial Colisium before 1972.

Philips Arena is across the street from the Georgia Dome, home of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Atlanta Hawks started as an NBA as the Tri-Cities Hawks and played in Moline, Illinois between 1946 and 1951. Between 1951 and 1955 the Hawks played in Milwaukee Wisconsin and from 1955 to 1968 the team played in St. Louis Missouri.

2011 NBA Playoffs

The Atlanta Hawks qualified for the 2011 NBA Playoffs. They defeated the Orlando Magic in the first round and were defeated by the Chicago Bulls in the Conference Semifinals.

2012 NBA Playoffs

The Hawks qualified for the playoffs as the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference. They were defeated by the #5 seed Boston Celtics in the conference quarterfinals.

2013 NBA Playoffs

The Atlanta Hawks qualified for the playoffs as the #6 seed and were defeated by the #3 seed Indiana Pacers in the first round.

NBA Finals

The Hawks have not been in the NBA Finals since moving to Atlanta. The St. Louis Hawks were in the NBA Finals four times and defeated the Boston Celtics for the championship in 1958.
