Staples Center has been home of the Los Angeles Lakers since 1999. The Lakers share Staples Center with the National Hockey League Kings and the NBA Clippers.

Staples Center is located just south of downtown Los Angeles. There is a Blue Line light rail station nearby.

Before moving to Staples Center the Lakers played in the Great Western Forum from 1967 to 1999.

The Minnesota Lakers moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles in 1960.

Since moving to Los Angeles the Lakers have played in the NBA Championship Final 14 times and won eleven of them.

2010 National Basketball Association Championship

The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2010 NBA Championship by defeating the Boston Celtics four games to three. They defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round, the Utah Jazz in the Conference Quarterfinals and the Phoenix Sun in the Conference Finals.

2011 NBA Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers qualified for the 2011 NBA Playoffs. They defeated the New Orleans Hornets in the first round and were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in the Conference Semifinals.

2012 NBA Playoffs

The Lakers qualified for the playoffs as the #3 seed in the Western Conference. They defeated the #6 seed Denver Nuggets in the conference quarterfinals before being defeated by the #2 seed Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference semifinals.

2013 NBA Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers qualified for the playoffs as the #7 seed in the Western Conference. They were defeated by the #2 seed San Antonio Spurs in the first round.
