The Dallas Mavericks were a NBA expansion franchise in 1980.

2011 National Basketball Association Champions

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat for the 2011 National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship. They defeated the Portland Trailblazers in the first round, the Boston Celtics in the Conference Semifinals and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Conference Finals before defeating the Miami Heat in the finals to win their first NBA Championship.

2012 NBA Playoffs

The Mavericks qualified for the playoffs as the #7 seed in the Western Conference. They were defeated in four straight games by the #2 seed Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference quarterfinals.
