Toyota Center has been the home of the Houston Rockets since the arena opened in 2003. Before moving to Toyota Center, the Rockets played in The Summit from 1975 to 2003. The arena was named Compaq Center from 1998 until 2003.

The National Basketball Association expanded by two teams in 1967 by adding the San Diego Rockets and Seattle Supersonics. The Rockets move from San Diego to Houston in 1970 and became the Houston Rockets

NBA Championships

The Houston Rockets won the the NBA Championship two times. The championships were back to back in 1994 and 1995. In 1994 they defeated the New York Knicks and in 1995 they defeated the Orlando Magic.
