The AT&T Center has been home of the San Antonio Spurs since the arena opened in 2002. From 2002 to 2006 the arena was named SBC Center. Before playing in the AT&T Center the Spurs played in the Alamodome from 1993 until 2002 and the HemisFair Arena before 1993.
2013 NBA Playoffs
The San Antonio Spurs won the Southwest Division in the 2012-13 NBA Season and are the #2 seed in the playoffs. They defeated the #7 seed Los Angeles Lakers in the first round and the #6 seed Golden State Warriors in the Conference Semifinals. San Antonio Spurs History
The San Antonio Spurs were in the American Basketball Association and were one of four teams from the ABA that merged with NBA in 1976. The other three teams that became members of the NBA were the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers and New York Nets.
2011 NBA Playoffs
The San Antonio Spurs qualified for the 2011 NBA Playoffs. They were defeated in the first round by the Memphis Grizzlies 4 games to 2.
2012 NBA Playoffs
The Spurs qualified for the playoffs as the #1 seed in the Western Conference. They defeated the #8 seed Utah Jazz in the conference quarterfinals and the #5 seed Los Angeles Clippers in the conference semifinals before losing to the #2 seed Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference finals.
NBA Championships
The San Antonio Spurs have won the NBA Championship four times. The last championship was in 2007, when they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in four straight games. They also won the NBA championship in 2005 defeating the Detroit Pistons, in 2003 defeating the New Jersey Nets and in 1999 the Spurs defeated the New York Knicks.
