The US Airways Center has been the home of the Phoenix Suns since the arena opened in 1992. The arena name was changed from America West Arena to US Airways Center in 2006. Before moving to US Airways Center the Suns played in Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

In 1968, the National Basketball Association (NBA) granted two new franchises to the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks.

The Phoenix Suns have not won a National Basketball Association Championship. The Suns have made it to the NBA Championship finals two times in their history. The Boston Celtics defeated the Suns in the 1976 NBA Championship and the Chicago Bulls defeated the Suns in the 1993 finals.
